7 High-Protein and Low-Carb Foods: The Most Healthy Diet for You
Studies have shown that high-protein and low-carb diets can cause weight loss, build muscles and improve health. Today, we’ll be looking at the 7 most healthy high-protein and low-carb foods you need to stock up on.
Gentlemen & Ladies!
In the early part of 2018, I was a gym rat…
I would usually hit the gym 5 to 6 times a week. Start with a warm-up session on the treadmill, then I would join the aerobics session. I do different push-ups, repeat as many reps as possible, nothing less than 10 sets. Then I proceed to lift heavy weights – bench press, deadlift, squat.
I would then throw in a few Cross Body Hammer Curl and Dumbbell One Arm Swings in the mix while listening to my gym/workout playlist which gave me all the inspiration I needed to crank out more reps and stay motivated throughout my workout session. The Point is I Didn’t Stop When I’m Tired. I Only Stopped When I Was Done For The Day.
…but by June 2018, I was a Gym-Class Dropout.
What happened? you might ask.
You’ll find out why in a bit.
I did all these back then all in a bid to stick to my doctor’s recommendation that I should adopt a healthy lifestyle (in the midst of my already busy work lifestyle).
Guys, it was tough – really tough!
Was I seeing the result? Yes!
Was it what I expected after a few months? No! I gained muscles, but damn – I didn’t lose as much weight as I expected in the first 3 months. I was big and bulky, well ripped of course, but I didn’t achieve my weight loss goal.
What then was the problem?
I just couldn’t figure that out.
I spoke with my friend Mr. Grant, a fellow Gym Rat. He suggested that I should cut down on my weight lifting (that is easier said than done) and substitute with the following habits;
All of these sounded like jargon to me. Then I spoke to another friend, Queeneth – a Food Consultant. She said, “Kobi – you need high-protein but low-carb foods. The solution would be to plan your meal properly, and I can help you do that.”
Boy, I was excited!
She continued… They are food high in protein and restricts food with carbohydrates such as those found in sugary foods, pasta, and bread. She began to list them.
“When shall we start?”, I asked.
That was how it all began, and for the past 4 months, I’ve consistently stuck to a diet that includes High-Protein and Low-Carb Foods and I’m seeing great results.
So today, I decided to make a list of the 7 most healthy food for high-protein and low-carb foods.
