Gentlemen, Are you aware of some bad grooming habits that might be ruining your chances with women? You probably have had these bad grooming habits for such as a long time that you don’t even notice they are offensive. Well, glad to have you here, just sit back, relax and get ready to learn in 10 minutes what over 50% of the new generation of men don’t know.

bad grooming habits

Gentleman, it is such a shame that some of us do have these bad grooming habits most women hate and we are oblivious to how annoying it is. A well-groomed man is a turn on for ladies but if you do (not do, if you have) these bad grooming habits, it’s a serious turn off for them.

How do I know this?

Some days ago, before I started writing this piece, I was having an enlightening conversation with a female friend of mine, Kike. And, in the middle of our conversation, I asked her what she thought about bad grooming habits that men have which pisses her off.

She had so many complaints about men’s bad grooming habits and how repulsive some of them are.

“Kobi, you don’t know how annoying it is when a guy walks past you and he chokes you with his perfume” – she said.

“Too much fragrance is really a turn off for me Kobi, you can imagine how a nice perfume which is meant to a weapon of mass seduction suddenly become a weapon of mass destruction she continued, with an expression of disgust on her face.

I laughed at her joke… “But common Kike, we all know that too much fragrance is a turnoff, but the problem is that some people either don’t have a very good sense of smell or they’ve become desensitized to the fragrance they wear every day, hence this problem.”

“It’s not a good reason Kobi, I just can’t stand it”, she said.

I asked, “but do you really think this is the Worst Bad Grooming Habit any man could have?”

“A guy that doesn’t trim it down there. Eww! that’s another one” she exclaimed, her face flushed, and a shrug of the shoulders expressed her disgust more.

I later asked a few other ladies what they thought about these 2 bad grooming habits and if they’ve got others they would like to share.

They all agreed to these two points Kike raised and had a lot more to share, in fact, one of them shocked me with a Bathroom Habit which I captured as No 1 in my list today.

So, guys, that’s why I urgently felt the need to table this issue here.
You definitely need to keep reading because I have highlighted 7 extremely annoying grooming habits most women hate.

I hope this is an eye opener as it was for me (not that I’m guilty of any of them though *winks* ). Alright, see below!

7 Bad Grooming Habits of Men That Women Absolutely Can’t Stand

#1: Bathroom Etiquette

bad grooming habits

Most women are very big on bathroom etiquette. This tops the list of bad grooming habits women hate and it can make or break your relationship. Women expect that you leave and treat the bathroom with care.

  • Don’t leave tiny shaving hairs on the floor or around the sink. Please, clean it up!
  • No irrelevant products in the bathroom cupboard, throw away that perfume bottle or lotion that finished years ago.
  • Please flush before and especially after using the toilet. Very important!
  • Don’t urinate on the toilet seat, raise the toilet seat lid prior to urinating. And lastly, have a good target!

#2: Not Trimming It Down There

bad grooming habits

This is definitely a no, no for ladies. According to one of the ladies I talked to about these bad grooming habits, she said it’s better to trim it a little than leave it bushy down there. So this is definitely one of the most annoying grooming habits women hate so much.

To them, it speaks a lot about your cleanliness plus it’s not hygienic. Too much hair down there can collect germs.  Women don’t like to deal with lots of hairs down there, so you must educate yourself on proper shaving and maintenance techniques.

#3: Using Too Much Perfume or Body Spray

Avoid choking people with too much body spray, some men don’t know the right amount of cologne to use. Some would literally bathe in it. Spraying it three or four times can last you all day long depending on how strong your cologne is.

You can also use a softer scent if you’re going for a dinner date. Basically, the occasion should determine the scent you’d use.

#4: Not Manscaping at All

bad grooming habits

Manscaping? Is this is a foreign term? NO, it’s not.

It simply means removing unwanted body hair by shaving, trimming, waxing. And from my experience, women don’t like too much body hairs. It’s a known fact that ‘some’ women like chest hairs, but trust me they don’t want a gorilla chest hair or on any part of your body. If you’re afraid of waxing, then try shaving and keeping it neat – that should do. Ladies, am I right? “Yes, you are, Kobi!”. Awesome!

#5: Excessive Underarm Sweating

Sweaty armpits are definitely a big turnoff for ladies. If you’re guilty of this, I would advise that you use a good antiperspirant, to slow down the production of underarm sweat. Or better still, use a pH-balanced shower gel.

Avoid heavily perfumed products, they can change your skin’s pH and make the sweating worse. Also, wear loose-fitting clothes or a breathable cotton T-shirt, and say goodbye to skin-tight rollneck clothes. Always keep a spare shirt in your desk drawer just in case.

#6: Bushy Eyebrows

A woman doesn’t like a man who has bushy eyebrows. Don’t let them grow into a thick forest. If you have a monobrow, split into two separate brows. And if they are much and you don’t know what to do, ask your barber to help you shape them regularly.

#7: Overgrown or Dirty Nails

bad grooming habits

If you don’t already know this, women will always secretly check out a few things on a guy. They notice little things like your hair, shoes, clothes, teeth and even your nails – finger nails and toenails. No woman likes to see a man with overgrown or unkempt nails. So, keep your nails short and clean.

Lastly, Biting your nails is not acceptable, it simply shows that you don’t have a good grooming habit.

Final Thoughts

These bad grooming habits men ignore may seem irrelevant and small, but they should be taken seriously.

Nice write up Mr. Kobi. I enjoy reading your blog. However, I have a concern on this line ” Don’t urinate on the toilet seat, have a good target.”

I think advising for the toilet seat to be raised prior to urinating would be cool.
