BEARD STYLES & GROOMING GUIDE
10 Ways to Make Your Beard Grow Faster and Thicker
Having a beard gives a powerful statement: “I Am a Man! A Real Man!”
Gone are the days’ young men shave. About 2 decades ago, every young man between the age of 15 and 25 dreaded beards, they were ashamed of it, they wished it would never grow and when it finally happens, they start shaving daily or weekly in a bid to hide the fact that they are fast becoming real men….bearded gentlemen.
But, those days are gone.
These days every young male dream of growing thick luxurious beards right from adolescence. They can’t wait to show them off to impress the ladies. After all it’s a sign of true manliness and most women like a manly beard.
I get this question on a regular basis – How can I make my facial hair grow faster and fuller?
And that is the essence of today’s article.
Unfortunately, growing beards is not entirely about one’s personal choice, a lot of it has to do with genetics as well as when you started your puberty. However, your genes primarily determines how thick, fuller and luxurious your beards can be.
While there are no medical products that are guaranteed to make you grow beards, there are few ways you can help encourage your facial hair to grow faster, better and thicker. But you must also know that for you to truly grow an epic beard, you have to be very patient and fully committed to it.
Below are a few steps you can follow to enhance your facial hair growth as well as how to make light facial hairs become a thick beard.
10 Ways to Make Your Beard Grow Faster
1. WATCH YOUR DIET
Hair is made of protein, so eating protein rich diet will help provide your body with adequate nutrients to help your facial hair grow. Also stick to healthy, nutritious and vitamin-rich diet. Drink plenty of water – the recommended eight glasses of water a day will help you grow a thick, full and healthy beard.
2. MANAGE YOUR STRESS. EXERCISE. GET PLENTY OF REST
It is an established fact that stress contributes to hair loss. When you are under stress, your male hormone levels drops and this constricts blood vessels thereby causing the hair toot to receive fewer nutrients. You should avoid stressful situations, always find time to relax and try and sleep a minimum of 7 to 8 hours daily. This is essential for your beard growth as well as your general well-being.
3. PROPER SKIN CARE.
Clean skin accelerates hair growth. When your skin is not clean, hair follicles can become blocked with dirt thus preventing your hair from growing. Practice proper skin care, ensure your skin is always clean and use hair healthy grooming products. Also exfoliate your face once a week, this will help remove dead cells and stimulate facial hair growth.
4. TAKE THE RIGHT VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS
If you find that you are not on a well-balance diet, then taking the right vitamins and supplements will help. Mineral deficiency could cause slowness of hair growth and daily intake of supplements that contain Iron, vitamin E, vitamins B (particularly biotin), vitamin D, selenium, copper, magnesium and zinc would help your beard growth to a certain degree. You could also take 2.5 mg of biotin supplement every day to help your beard grow faster.
5. USE OF AMLA OIL
Amla oil is a natural remedy to increase facial hair growth. Massage your skin with amla oil and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse your face with cold water and then clean it.
6. DON’T SHAVE, DON’T SHAPE TOO SOON
A lot of people believe that the more you shave the more the beard grows, which is not true. You grow a beard by letting it grow, not by shaving it. You need to give your beard time to grow if you want to grow fuller beards. You must let your beard grow for at least 1 to 2 months (without shaving or shaping). Only then, would most beards start to fill up and connect. After this, you can then start to groom and shape it to your desired style suitable for your face shape.
7. MAKE USE OF BEARD OIL AND SPRAYS
Once you start growing a beard even if it’s still light and faint, start applying a nice beard oil to make it grow faster. It also makes it look healthier, younger and fuller. While there are so many beard oil products out there that claim to enhance beard growth, I will say go with trusted brands and only those that contain Eucalyptus as the main ingredient, as eucalyptus helps promote facial hair growth. For my rich, full, thick beards, I personally use a Premium Beard Oil which has eucalyptus as one of the main ingredients.

8. AVOID USE OF STEROIDS, EVEN THE MILD ONES
Even though mild steroids like hydrocortisone are prescribed to help you with itching when growing your beards, I would say AVOID the using too much of as it could have serious side effects such as blistering, excessive lightening of the skin and skin damage which will eventually hinder your beard growth.
9. ARE YOU BALDING? DON’T WORRY YOU WILL CERTAINLY GROW BEARDS
If you are prone to hair loss, there is every good chance that your beards will certainly grow. Bald men are capable of growing full thick beards. So if you are young and already balding, yet you haven’t got any facial hair yet, don’t worry, THE LUXURIOUS BEARDS WILL COME!

10. BE PATIENT
If you are still in your 20s and haven’t grown beards at all, it doesn’t mean you have bad genes. Try waiting a little bit longer till you in your early 30s, some people get their beards earlier than others while some people don’t grow it that much at all.
CONCLUSION
If your facial hair is growing at a slow pace, the above suggestions would help to make it thicker and fuller.
As already mentioned, there are no medical products that are guaranteed to make you grow beards if it’s not in your genes. If you are still in your 20s just be a little more patient, your beards could still develop. But if you are in your mid 30s and above, and you still don’t have any facial hair yet (which is extremely rare), it’s probably not in your genes and in this case nothing will ever work except a visit to a plastic surgeon for facial hair transplant which I would never advise.

Hi Chidera, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Have you tried growing it for 1-2 months without shaping or trimming as I advised? The solution would be to grow it for that duration, then trim the right chin to match up…gradually it’s going to be even on both sides, you don’t have to do any other thing.

Hi Jonathan, thanks for always reading. Yeah if you are already growing beards and want it to grow fuller and thicker, nourish it with the right beard oil. Go with trusted brands as these do not have any side effects. Depending on the one you choose you should read up reviews as well as there are a lot of them in the market. Beard oils are filled with organic nourishing oils to promote thicker and stronger beard. Apply a small amount daily to clean beard. Massage into roots. Then brush or comb as desired.
