The Gentleman’s Code #10 : Be Confident. Not Cocky

confidence

Confidence.

It is how you feel about yourself and the way you carry yourself.  And the way you carry yourself is influenced by the way you feel inside.

Confidence is what makes us succeed, what drives us and gives us the opportunity to do everything we want without hesitation and without a single doubt that we might not do it successfully. Self-confident people are admired by others and inspire confidence in others.

For me, confidence is like saying: instead of being afraid that I might fail, I’m curious what will happen if I succeed. And it’s very important not to take failure as an excuse to stop trying new things, but you should take it as a lesson you get every time you fail.

“So how can I become more confident?” – you might ask.

Well, the idea is fairly simple, but the process can be pretty tough. It’s hard because you need to change yourself and your beliefs. To do this successfully, focus and determination are required. You can achieve this by making some changes in how you think about yourself and how you conduct yourself. There is no easy way through it, but once done, you change your life on every level – forever.

Today, I am giving you the four simple steps that I’ve followed every single day for the past 5 years that has changed my life!

confidence

Rule №1: Believe that everything you start doing, can be accomplished

You simply can’t accomplish a task that you have started with the mental belief that you will fail! If you don’t believe in yourself, how do you expect anybody else to? Your mind is probably the most powerful thing you own, and if you make it work against you, there is no way you will succeed. Was Albert Einstein sure that he would on day develop the general theory of relativity? Hell no! But from the very start he believed that he would. It took some time (about 10 years) before he ever published it in 1915, but he did it!

You don’t need to be a genius to succeed at what you are doing you just have to be sure that you’ll succeed.

Rule №2: Start thinking positively

Remove negativity from your thoughts. Start every task with will and enthusiasm. It’s very wrong for you to think that you will fail or that you are incompetent. So why do it? Start saying to yourself every day, three times a day – I am the best I can be today and tomorrow I’ll be greater than I am today. Start confessing these daily and watch your life begin to take new shape. Beating yourself down is a sure way to failure.

Rule №3: Always Be Yourself

Always be yourself. Never apologize for what you stand for. Never stop doing your best because someone doesn’t give you credit. If someone doesn’t like you for who you are, then they don’t deserve your time. After all, they say – There’s power behind a confident smile. Those who wish you well will be happy. Those who wish you wrong will get nervous.

Rule №4: Dress nicely and maintain Good Personal Hygiene

Always dress well in nice clothes that make you feel good about yourself. This doesn’t mean spending tons of money on clothes, rather this means dressing well and neat in the appropriate attires for the right occasions. Also, make it a point to groom yourself and maintain good personal hygiene. Avoid dirty nails, take proper care of your hands and always keep your fingernails trim and dirt free. Remember, cleanliness is next to stylishness.

That’s it gents,
